Waiting for the #9 Bus?

Aren't we all really.

So this is where I am supposed to write about myself in the third person and boast about my accomplishments? In order make to you feel better about picking me for your show?
I just am not capable of writing about myself like that. I've tried...therapy, and drugs? It isn't going to happen. Yeah... I've won some cool radio related awards. I think I am pretty damn funny. I hope that with every joke I tell, I get a little bit closer to deserving the time I have on stage. I hope the words I can offer help people in whatever way they need help.

So I suppose this is my about:

Carl Dean Stutsman (Carl Dean) was born on Valentines Day in the nineteen thousand and ninetieth year of our lord, Josh. He was raised by a do everything hospital employee, and a do anything disabled veteran in Elkhart, IN.

Much of his childhood was spent on the rough and tumble streets of the typical Midwest trailer park. Where he learned to swear, disobey, and hide being smart to survive. It did'nt work.

He got beat up anyway.

But fear not...because eventually he would leave this place to the glamourous life in the cul-de-sac. Then in High School with the help of some friends he found a way to allow his inner creativity to blossom into it's wonderful sarcastic glory. That where he met his wife Paige, while dating someone else. Whoops.

While college was nothing more than a cup of coffee. He was in long enough to turn an internship into a job that would carry him across multiple markets and genres as an Talk Show Host, Producer, Program Director, Reporter, and Anchor. During his more than 10 years in the business honed his skills as an interviewer and cared deeply for his audience and positive message to the community. His passionate approach aimed, and succeeded, in closing the gap between the dying radio industry and the people it once proudly served. He was subsequently released for his efforts.

Comedy is his passion. During a high school freshman orientation with his guidance counselor he was instructed to think of a more suitable profession than "Stand Up Comedian"...and he did. Its a mistake he doesn't want to make again. In his early 30's he hopes to turn a lifetime of experiences into relatable, funny, sarcastic, and thought provoking comedy.

So here he is. Carl Dean, with all his perks and quirks doing the thing he's always wanted to do...make people laugh...and feel better. Even if for a second. Also, if anyone wants to know more...just ask. No matter who you are.

Sincerely, Carl Dean
